/ Le Cemagref a mis au point un sécheur fonctionnant sur le principe de la double pression de saturation et de dé saturation utilisée comme technique de référence de génération d'humidité relative. Cette méthode basée sur un phénomène physique a valeur d'étalon et ne requiert pas nécessairement d'instrument de mesure de l'humidité relative. Le séchage contrôlé du pollen ou des graines est réalisé à température ambiante par le seul contrôle de la valeur d'humidité relative de l'air de séchage. Ce mode de séchage est très bien adapté aux matériels vivants et ou très fragiles. Il permet en particulier une stabilisation automatique des produits à une valeur finale de potentiel hydrique ou en d'autres termes d'activité de l'eau qui peut être programmée dès le début du cycle de séchage, ce processus de séchage interdit par son principe tout risque de séchage excessif. Il s'apparente à une méthode de gestion de l'activité de l'eau et non pas de teneur en eau massique finale qui n'est qu'une résultante de la composition chimique du produit séché et de son potentiel hydrique. Cet appareil est très simple à construire et à utiliser, il peut être mis en ½uvre avec un minimum de formation. Cet équipement est actuellement utilisé dans les principales structures forestières en France, il a également été transféré avec grand succès au Québec pour le séchage du pollen et des lots de graines précieux.
