Existe un debate público sobre si los avances en la políticas y regulación ambiental peruana en las últimas décadas han sido suficientes para mejorar la gestión ambiental y así poder incrementar la gobernanza de los recursos naturales, reducir los impactos ambientales y sociales y evitar los conflictos socioambientales. La política ambiental en el Perú ha venido incorporando una serie de herramientas que ha reforzado su regulación, el acceso a la información o mecanismos de participación ciudadana, aunque sin dejar de lado las tensiones que han producido estas incorporaciones e incluso los retos relacionados con el calentamiento global y las alternativas a esta situación como es la transición energética justa y sostenible. En el presente artículo presentaremos la caracterización de la política ambiental peruana y su impacto en los últimos años.
