Cet article porte sur les pédagogies alternatives à partir des résultats d’une recherche exploratoire menée en Suisse. Cette recherche a été réalisée au sein de trois écoles mettant en œuvre une pédagogie « autre », « alternative » ou « différente ». Les trois cas d’étude ont été choisis avec le souci d’une ouverture à la diversité de pédagogies qui constituent aujourd’hui le paysage des écoles alternatives : en l’occurrence une école Montessori, une école de pédagogie dans, par et avec la nature, ainsi qu’une école démocratique. Un même dispositif de recherche mixte a été déployé pour chaque étude de cas, à travers des entretiens semi-directifs auprès des différent·e·s acteur·trice·s des trois écoles, des observations non participantes, des analyses documentaires et des dessins. Cette contribution offre une synthèse de cette recherche exploratoire et une analyse critique qui met en lumière la diversité des écoles alternatives à travers des éléments contextuels et pédagogiques.
