Convaincue des bienfaits du théâtre dans les domaines de l’éducation, la compagnie de théâtre les Taupes Secrètes Artistes Associés s’est donnée, dès sa création en 1994, cette mission dans l’esprit de l’éducation populaire. Deux exemples emblématiques montrent la capacité du théâtre d’agir sur des objectifs forts de l’éducation, ils mettent également en évidence que les freins sont essentiellement structurels. La violence constatée dans un collège est remplacée « en imaginant des solutions ». Les élèves relèvent eux-mêmes avoir appris à réinvestir ailleurs ce qu’ils ont pratiqué au théâtre. Un autre objectif est relevé dans les bilans : le développement de l’estime de soi. Le théâtre n’a que peu de freins internes pour atteindre des objectifs nécessaires aux apprentissages. Nous devons sortir d’un fonctionnement de l’expérience isolée pour inscrire le théâtre dans une politique éducative nationale.
