Abstract
Les guerres interétatiques se sont raréfiées dans notre monde multipolaire et, bien que les conflits civils continuent de faire rage, la mortalité liée aux guerres n’a jamais été aussi faible. En examinant l’action des mouvements pour la paix dans le temps long, il convient d’admettre que la remise en cause de la légitimité de la guerre comme instrument de règlement des différends interétatiques n’est pas étrangère à l’engagement d’hommes et de femmes qui, depuis le début du xix e siècle, ont refusé de considérer la guerre comme une fatalité .
