Abstract
En s’appuyant sur une étude approfondie de la littérature sur la tragédie grecque et les crises organisationnelles, l’article explore la dimension tragique des crises. Il décrit ainsi les stratégies déployées par les dirigeants face à des événements renversants qui dépassent leur capacité de gestion et de contrôle. L'utilisation de cette lentille tragique débouche sur deux contributions : d’une part nous proposons une définition de la crise tragique et d’autre part nous élaborons un modèle de développement des crises grâce auquel nous dérivons des recommandations pour améliorer la gestion des crises qui réunissent les conditions du tragique. Tout au long de l’article, nous illustrons nos développements avec le cas de la gestion de la pandémie par le gouvernement du Québec.
