Abstract
Le Dictionnaire Jésus publié sous les auspices de l’École biblique et archéologique française de Jérusalem présente, à côté d’articles pertinents, bien des entrées qui font problème. Les auteurs sont en effet animés par le souhait apologétique de montrer la continuité qui existerait entre le Jésus historique et le Sauveur confessé par les Églises. Cela les conduit à postuler gratuitement la constitution précoce d’une mémoire stabilisée et à multiplier les anachronismes. Une telle difficulté à restituer la dimension historique des phénomènes religieux pose la question de la scientificité de l’entreprise.
