Desa merupakan unit pemerintahan terkecil yang telah memiliki otonom untuk mengelola sumber daya yang dimilikinya secara mandiri. Untuk itu desa membutuhkan strategi branding supaya desa mendapatkan perhatian investor atau masyarakat luar untuk melakukan perjalanan, atau membelanjakan uangnya di daerah tersebut. Branding Desa adalah perencanaan dan perancangan pembangunan desa (brand desa) dan produk turunannya di bidang ekonomi, pariwisata, budaya dan lain-lain (brand produk). Latar belakangnya didasarkan pada realita yang ada bahwa Desa Tetebatu Selatan ini merupakan desa yang saat ini sedang dikembangkan melalui potensi-potensi wisatanya dan berbagai hasil produk dari alam. Untuk itu dilakukan perancangan ini agar masyarakat dapat mendukung Desa Tetebatu Selatan yang mulai berkembang agar dapat menjadi desa wisata yang baik dan dikenal masyarakat umum. Branding memliki tujuan dan makna yang lebih luas yang merupakan bagian dari strategi perusahaan untuk sampai ke benak orang atau khalayak ramai
