Este artigo tem por objetivo caracterizar e analisar o perfil da agroindústria do Estado da Bahia. No ano de 2007, a agroindústria baiana se constitui com 5.093 estabelecimentos agroindustriais ocupando 101.581 trabalhadores. O conjunto total das agroindústrias baianas teve uma receita de vendas de R$ 13 bilhões e a lucratividade de 9%. Ademais, dois ramos concentram 2/3 da receita total da agroindústria e os salários pagos estão abaixo da média geral da indústria. Este foi o perfil apresentado pela agroindústria da Bahia. Fica evidente que a agroindústria baiana tem apresentado um significativo crescimento ao longo dos anos, devido aos investimentos feitos no setor, incentivados pelas políticas de desenvolvimento do Estado da Bahia.
