Abstract
Menopause merupakan suatu kondisi fisiologis pada wanita yang telah memasuki masa penuaan (aging) atau wanita berusia 45 tahun keatas. Salah satu penyakit yang berkaitan dengan faktor penuaan adalah osteoarthritis genu. Osteoarthritis genu merupakan penyakit kronis yang terjadi pada persendian akibat penurunan hormone estrogen pada wanita menopause yang menyebabkan menurunnya matrik kolagen sehingga tulang rawan menjadi rusak. Permasalahan yang akan terjadi pada penderita osteoarthritis genu yaitu timbulnya rasa nyeri, kelemahan otot, ketidakstabilan sendi, kekakuan sendi pada pagi hari, krepitasi, pembengkakan dan keterbatasan fungsional. Pelayanan fisioterapi yang bisa diberikan yaitu pemberian edukasi mengenai terapi latihan. Tujuannya adalah memberikan edukasi terkait osteoarthritis genu dan penatalaksanaan fisioterapinya. Metode ini menggunakan metode penyuluhan (ceramah dan tanya jawab), edukasi dan demonstrasi tentang latihan, serta pemeriksaan nyeri lutut menggunakan Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC) pada 65 wanita menopause yang dilakukan selama 1 bulan yaitu pada tanggal 06 s/d 31 Desember 2021. Hasil setelah diberikan edukasi fisioterapi dan terapi latihan didapatkan adanya penurunan keluhan nyeri lutut pada wanita menopause. Hasil dari kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini diharapkan akan menjadi referensi bagi fisioterapis maupun profesi kesehatan lain agar kegiatan serupa dapat dilakukan, sehingga kemanfaatannya dapat meningkatkan kesehatan pada masyarakat khususnya terkait kasus osteoarthritis genu pada wanita menopause.
