« Tabou » (2012), du réalisateur portugais Miguel Gomes envoûte le spectateur par le caractère aventurier des personnages et par le désir fatal qui les unit dans le scénario exotique de l’Afrique des années 1960, mythifiée par la remémoration nostalgique de l’ancien colon. Dans cette analyse du film, nous essaierons toutefois de démontrer la façon dont, paradoxalement, à travers cette évocation romancée, le réalisateur finit en réalité par déconstruire et dénoncer de manière assez subtile et ingénieuse une certaine vision idyllique du passé colonial portugais.
