Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Unprecedented internal migrations occurred in Italy since the end of the World War II, especially from rural areas to urbanised and industrialised urban centres, and from the south to the north of the country. The heritage left behind during these relocations found new collocations and value during the 1960s and 1970s. Retracing the biography of the tools which once belonged to the Tuscan farmer Zeno Fiaschi and were included in a 2010 exhibition at the CCA (Canadian Centre for Architecture in Montreal, Canada), this chapter delves into the rural-themed practice of Superstudio and of the collective’s former member Alessandro Poli. During the 1970s, the architects collaborated on an educational research project ( Cultura Materiale Extraurbana or Extraurban Material Culture ) that surveyed the material culture of non-urban settlements. Their aim – which still is a valid call for today’s architects – was to experience and learn alternative ways of creating to design the future on new terms.

Fetched live from OpenAlex and de-inverted. Abstracts are not stored in this database: the inverted indexes are 8.6 GB of the frame’s 9.3 GB of text, and the host has 13 GB free.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
