Indonesia adalah negara dengan potensi tinggi terjadi bencana. Letak geografis dan struktur topografis Indonesia merupakan faktor utama terjadinya bencana tersebut. Dampak yang diakibatkan oleh bencana alam begitu banyak, mulai dari kehilangan kerabat dekat, tempat tinggal, dan harta benda. Hal-hal inilah yang menimbulkan stress, ketakutan, gelisah, insomnia, hingga meerasa bahwa dirinya tidak berguna, bahkan putus asa, jika pada diri seseorang ditemukan hal-hal diatas maka itulah yang disebut penderita trauma psikologis. Pada kasus seperti ini Medis bukanlah jalan keluar yang tepat, karna obat-obatan hanya meredakan bukan mengobati, dan sifatnya sementara. Maka Psikologi Islam hadir memberikan solusi dengan menanamkan sifat Tawakkal dalam perspektif al-Ghazali yang mana menurutnya dengan Tawakkal mampu membawa manusia mencapai ma’rifatullah, hingga ia menyandarkan segala sesuatu kepadaNya.
