Abstract
En prenant acte du faible nombre de recherches sur les sujets d’actualités justifié par les difficultés à les définir et à les repérer, cet article s’efforce de faire disparaître ces deux obstructions. Pour ce faire, il prend appui sur une vision systémique des médias de masse et s’efforce de caractériser un sujet d’actualité à partir des notions d’évènements médiatiques, de catégories et de signes. Il traite l’actualité des médias de masse, morcelée en multiples sujets, comme un présent aussi bien renouvelé continuellement que préformé par un passé plus ou moins lointain. Il tente dans un second temps de proposer un certain nombre d’outils pour faciliter le repérage effectif de ces thèmes d’actualités à partir d’un corpus de productions médiatiques issues de chaînes de télévisions, de stations de radio ou de titres de presse.
