Dans ses expressions traditionnelles, la recherche vise des « objets » bien définis plutôt que des « choses » à caractères non déterminés, une différence qui maintient et élabore les connotations de la recherche liées aux domaines de tout ce qui est scientifique et épistémique, mais non à tout ce qui est artistique ou des arts. L’auteure présente en premier temps les contours de la phénoménologie et de l’écriture, en deuxième temps une analyse de la performativité, ses origines en philosophie de langage ordinaire dans la tradition de la philosophie anglaise/britannique et son influence sur nos idées au sujet de l’écriture incarnée et en troisième temps des possibilités d’écriture « post- », y inclus des gestes d’écriture provenant d’autres modes (performativité post-linguistique) et d’autres langues (l’écriture analphabétique).
