Dans cet ouvrage quelque peu conceptuel, Hervé Tiffon se propose d’« expliquer le Culturel ». Projet ambitieux sans être totalisant, il décrit « comment ce prodigieux système d’exploitation éclot de son terreau originel le Vivant, comment des êtres vivants sont devenus des humains » (p. 263). Tiffon cherche ainsi ce qui différencie l’homme des autres espèces vivantes, et sa réponse passera par le langage et l’organisation sociale, piliers d’une culture donnant une spécificité propre à l’Homm...
