Abstract
Pour définir l'imaginaire du Nord, cet article fait la jonction entre les discours sur le Nord produits par les Occidentaux et ceux produits par les gens qui habitent les régions nordiques, qu'ils soient allochtones ou autochtones. Seule cette démarche peut mener à une recomplexification du Nord capable de cerner les nombreux enjeux liés à l'imaginaire de ce lieu. Une série de conditions éthiques de la recherche sur le Nord et l'Arctique sont ensuite proposées.
