Abstract
Si, depuis les années 1980, de nombreux travaux ont montré que la tragédie des communaux n’était pas dominante au niveau local, pourvu que certaines règles de gestion collectives soient mises en place et respectées, c’est sans doute au niveau international que la surexploitation rationnelle des ressources que décrit ce modèle est la plus évidente et les solutions les plus élusives. Après avoir rappelé le modèle analytique initial dont le pouvoir heuristique demeure, cet article présente les avantages et les limites des solutions existantes afin de surmonter cette dynamique et souligne la place centrale du politique dans toute réflexion sur cette question.
