Abstract
In the field of crop protection, the use of “alternative” methods to chemical pesticides has been encouraged by recent regulations. Agroecology is closely linked to these regulations, with natural methods being proposed as an alternative to these controversial products. However, despite increased media coverage, biological control still seems to be relatively unknown to the general public at the time of writing. The field of biological control does not have significant media coverage, even though it has been increasing every year for the past decade. Natural substances of plant or mineral origin correspond to substances naturally present in a vegetal environment or a mineral one. The European and U.S. regulations have their own specificities. Collecting and analyzing articles over a short and recent diachrony is an approach that is becoming more common in textual terminology, and constitutes “a fundamental methodological option for attesting to the multiform heterogeneity of the discursive units”.
