Abstract
According to Liliane Pariente it is to Pierre-Joseph Bérial, pharmacist in Paris that we owe the invention of saccharide-granules in the early nineteenth century (1). In 1830 he describes in the Pharmacy Journal saccharides of Cainca extract. The Codex of 1866 describes the saccharides of lichen and carragahem, the same year the laboratory Le Perdriel sells saccharides of granulated salts of lithium.This form is pleasant to consume, more and more specialties are manufactured by manufacturers which is not without protests of pharmacists. The 1901 catalog of Etablissements Goy includes 46 formulas. In the Codex of 1908 are inscribed saccharides of calcium glycerophosphate and kola, Astier laboratories will popularize them.
