: A expansão dos estudos sobre a mulher está relacionada à luta pela inserção no mercado de trabalho, aos movimentos feministas e também a novos paradigmas associados às dinâmicas das relações entre os sexos. A visibilidade da mulher rural noespaço público representa rupturas com o nosso passado patriarcal e a estrutura androcêntrica que persiste há tempos e pode contribuir para a construção de novas identidades femininas no campo. O presente trabalho pretende analisar a construção dasrelações de poder no âmbito da participação da mulher rural em instituições de representação coletiva, partindo do pressuposto de que a atuação política representa fator gerador de novas perspectivas de poder para trabalhadoras rurais nos âmbitospúblico e privado. Visa contribuir para debates acerca da inserção das mulheres nos espaços públicos e as implicações no espaço doméstico.
