Abstract
En raison de la pénurie de main-d’oeuvre, les employeurs et les associations d’employeurs cherchent à recruter un plus grand nombre de travailleuses et travailleurs migrants temporaires (TMT) dans différents secteurs d’activité au Québec. Cette demande destinée à pourvoir de nombreux emplois n’est pas nouvelle. Toutefois, les divers programmes, les besoins exprimés par les employeurs et les enjeux vécus par les TMT demeurent largement méconnus du grand public. Cette contribution propose une présentation du Programme des travailleurs étrangers temporaires (PTET) et de ses divers volets, un survol des besoins en main-d’oeuvre exprimés par les employeurs ainsi qu’une discussion à propos de la précarité des TMT. Finalement, le texte avance quelques critiques à propos des conditions socioéconomiques et sociojuridiques des TMT au Canada.
