SedimentatiOll and sedimentation+centrifugation-f1otation methods for recovery eggs of A.perfoliata from horse faeces were tested for efficiency and suitability for routine use. Faecal samples were collected from necropsied horses without A. perfo/iala infected. The tests were done under standardised conditions on LOg of horse faeces contaminated experimentally with S, 10, lS, SO, iDO and 100 eggs of A. perfo/iata. The samples were examined using sedimentation and sedimentation+centrifugationf1otation methods to use three different f1otation solutions (NaCI+ZnCh d: 1.3, ZnS04 d: 1.3 and saturated sucrose solution d: 1.3). Significant best rate of recovery was achieved using sucrose solution for sedimentation+centrifugation-flotation method and double sedimentation.
