Abstract
Les universités du Canada et du Québec ont vécu au cours des dernières années une « crise » autour de ce qui peut être dit ou enseigné en salle de cours. Dans plusieurs universités, le problème a été abordé comme mettant avant tout en cause les conditions d’exercice de la liberté académique et de la liberté d’expression. Sans nier la pertinence de cette approche, l’auteur soutient que les « excès » de certains étudiants et professeurs tiennent peut-être en partie à une carence épistémologique, c’est-à-dire à l’ignorance (ou encore à l’indifférence ou à l’aveuglement volontaire) de ces personnes quant aux modes de production du savoir qu’elles mobilisent elles-mêmes.
