Cet article, qui prend la forme d’une documentation de pratique, rend compte d’un projet de cocréation issu d’une recherche-design en littératie médiatique multimodale (LMM) : la création en classe d’une bande dessinée à caractère historique (BD-US). Au cours de ce projet, des élèves de la 6e année du primaire ont produit une oeuvre multimodale (texte - images) afin d’en apprendre davantage 1) sur la période historique des années 1900 à 1960 et 2) sur la réalisation complète d’une planche de bande dessinée. Dans le cadre de cet article, nous présentons ce projet de cocréation selon l’approche des 4P (portrait du milieu, processus de cocréation, projet, production). Nous terminons en identifiant plusieurs constats. Parmi eux, nous identifions la motivation que le projet a suscitée chez les élèves ainsi que le développement de plusieurs éléments de compétences en univers social et en LMM : décodage et lecture critique de documents composés d’images, recherche documentaire, réception/production d’informations sémiotiques en combinant du texte et des images.
