Abstract

Depuis trois décennies environ, la publicité utilise des citations bibliques et chrétiennes, de manière explicite ou implicite. Elle les détourne ou les métaphorise, de manière ludique, évocatrice ou humoristique. Cette étude analysera un certain nombre d’exemples, essentiellement en France et en Allemagne, en insistant sur leur contextualisation et leur réception. Elle présentera quelques publicités qui furent, en France, l’objet de contestations, parfois virulentes. Elle montrera l’évolution récente de ce phénomène, qui voit ces allusions religieuses évoluer vers une évocation d’une spiritualité orientalisante, privilégiant le bien-être et l’aspiration personnel au bonheur.
