Abstract

A endometriose é caracterizada pela presença de tecido endometrial fora da cavidade, sendo totalizada por uma doença ginecológica inflamatória. Estima-se que, no mundo, seis a dez por cento das mulheres com dificuldades reprodutivas sejam afetadas por essa doença. As afetadas, têm comumente sintomas como dispareunia, dismenorreia, dor pélvica intensa; podendo em alguns casos serem assintomáticas. Essa variedade sintomática dar-se-á pela característica intrínseca dos diferentes fenótipos a ela associada. Outrossim, tem-se que o tratamento é individualizado, indo desde práticas observacionais, medidas terapêuticas, até procedimentos cirúrgicos.
