Abstract
Access to clean water is still a problem in many developing countries, including Indonesia. This study aims to reveal the impact of access and the demand for clean water on children's performance. The data used in this research is IFLS data, from the first wave (1993) until the fifth wave ( This research used micro econometrics of impact evaluation to explain the impact of water access on the children's performance, and the impact of pollution and deforestation on the water demand. It's found that significant evidence that a family with piped water access has better children's performance. Besides that, the demand for pipe water is higher in the area that has more pollution and deforestation. Therefore, Government policies are directed at reducing deforestation in order to increase the availability of clean water.
