PENINGKATAN KEMAMPUAN BERBICARA UNTUK MAHASISWA KEPERAWATAN MELALUI KEGIATAN INFORMATION GAP PADA STIKES MERCUBAKTIJAYA PADANG

Abstract
Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara mahasiswa melalui kegiatan information gap di STIKes Mercubaktijaya Padang. Dari penelitian pendahuluan, ditemukan bahwa mahasiswa keperawatan mengalami kesulitan dalam berbicara seperti pemahaman, pengucapan, tata bahasa, kosa kata, dan kefasihan. Penelitian tindakan kelas merupakan desain dari penelitian ini. Dua siklus yang terdiri dari empat pertemuan untuk setiap siklus dilakukan dalam penelitian ini, dan dua pertemuan tambahan untuk melakukan post-test setelah siklus I dan siklus II. Prosedur penelitian penelitian ini terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Mahasiswa Keperawatan kelas II menjadi subjek penelitian. Sebanyak 56 mahasiswa dilibatkan untuk mengikuti penelitian tersebut.Analisis data menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada kemampuan berbicara mahasiswa di setiap siklus. Hasil siklus I memperoleh nilai rata-rata sebesar 2,82. Peningkatannya sekitar 1,00. dibandingkan dengan pre-test. Hasil pada siklus II (post test) meningkat menjadi 4,00. Dalam aspek berbicara, peningkatannya adalah 1,27 untuk kelancaran dan 1,20 untuk pemahaman, 1,02 untuk pengucapan 1,02 untuk kosakata dan tata bahasa 0,97. Dari hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan information gap efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara mahasiswa keperawatan di STIKes Mercubaktijaya Padang. Siswa memiliki kepercayaan diri untuk menyampaikan topik mereka. Peningkatan yang lebih terdapat pada kefasihan dan pemahaman dibandingkan dengan aspek lain.
