Abstract
Bien que relative dans les faits, la différence du rapport au temporel entre les clergés séculier et régulier est constitutive de l’identité sociale de chacun. À travers l’analyse statistique de 225 tombeaux d’abbés et d’évêques français des xiii e et xiv e siècles, cette brève enquête comparative propose de le démontrer en identifiant entre les deux catégories cléricales des tendances divergentes relatives à l’emplacement, au type, aux matériaux et à l’iconographie des monuments.
