Abstract
Irving “Snooker” Ruvinsky was a much-travelled catcher. A product of Montreal’s sandlots, Ruvinskyplayed semipro ball in England for a few years during the 1930s. While there, he donned the “tools of ignorance”for the first world amateur champions: England, in 1938.
