Abstract
La fortune du théâtre de Molière sur la scène italienne remonte à la seconde moitié du XXe siècle. En l'espace de quelques décennies, le dramaturge presque inconnu du grand public, inspire les plus grands metteurs en scène italiens qui, à travers ses comédies, abordent la question complexe de la mise en scène des classiques dans le monde contemporain. La découverte de Molière a comblé, comme l'avait deviné Cesare Garboli, une lacune dans la tradition théâtrale italienne, celle de la comédie bourgeoise et de ses valeurs liées absentes, à la même époque, dans la société italienne. En même temps, la nécessité d'adapter et d'actualiser le texte de Molière par rapport à la langue théâtrale italienne, remet en cause les choix de traduction et impose de nouveaux défis au jeu de l'acteur. A la fin du siècle on peut constater que Molière est définitivement entré dans le répertoire théâtral italien.
