Abstract
The first issue of 2014 is a themed number titled ‘Friendship, Morality, and Experience’. It brings together the work of five scholars who present different topics and perspectives on the anthropology of friendship. The collection has its origins in a panel discussion carrying the same name held at the 2011 American Anthropological Association annual meeting in Montreal. The organizers of the panel, Valerio Simoni (The Graduate Institute, Geneva) and Jason Throop (University of California, Los Angeles), compiled the papers and offered them to Suomen Antropologi. They have also written an introduction for the collection, where they supply an overview of the subject and the content of the articles. Friendship has become a prominent topic in anthropology of the 2000s and we are happy to provide a publishing platform for its theoretical and ethnographical development.
