Abstract
INTRODUÇÃODurante a gestação, ocorrem grandes modificações anatômicas, fisiológicas e bioquímicas em quase todos os sistemas da mulher.Essas mudanças se iniciam nas primeiras semanas da gestação e decorrem até os primeiros dias do puerpério ou até a volta do organismo materno às condições anteriores á gravidez.Essas alterações são causadas por uma série de interações hormonais, das quais a progesterona, estrogênio e relaxina têm maior impacto.No entanto, alguns desses ajustes podem causar desconforto e até dor durante a realização das AVD´s (atividades da vida diária) e/ou AVP´s (atividades da vida profissional) (ANJOS et al., 2016).Portanto, o fisioterapeuta é de grande importância atuando diante aos quadros álgicos ao longo da gravidez e no trabalho de parto da parturiente, promovendo maior relaxamento decorrente das técnicas aplicadas para reduzir o uso de medicamentos para a dor (BRAZ et al., 2014).
