Abstract
Cet article vise à rendre compte des débats politiques qui ont entouré l’importation et l’usage croissant des « empreintes génétiques » par les services de police et la justice française. Il s’appuie sur l’analyse quantitative et qualitative d’un corpus de 157 questions posées par des parlementaires à des ministres en exercice, de 1988 à 2020. Technique de preuve mais aussi mode de gouvernement, l’ADN est un révélateur des tendances plus générales qui ont traversé le traitement politique et judiciaire de la délinquance au cours des trente dernières années.
