Abstract
The 80s in the twentieth century have been, for many moviegoers of the twenty-first century, the time of growth in learning and love for the septième art. With original and daring approaches, some producers, directors, and screenwriters managed to offer the public a manifesto of what they thought about society, culture, politics, art, and cinema itself. Among those filmmakers, the name of Canadian filmmaker David Cronenberg stands out. The following is a text that addresses Cronenberg´s connection with audiovisual production in the framework of his most emblematic films from the 80s. He has been successful in expanding this message overtime to suggest and disturb us with multiple ideas and reflections about the contemporary world.
