Abstract
Cet article interroge aussi bien la notion de « bonne distance » que celle de « bonne proximité ». Il y a comme une torsion entre deux matrices de notre culture. L’une, récente, provient d’une psychologisation des vécus, l’autre, ancienne, valorise un idéal de communion entre les humains. Mais ces termes sémantiquement opposés sont éminemment combinés dans l’expérience de la relation à l’autre. C’est dans la distance que prend chair une présence qui n’annule jamais cette distance mais permet à chacun de devenir unique dans et par la relation. Cette approche de la rencontre peut permettre à l’action sociale de retrouver une visibilité et de mettre à distance les diktats technocratiques qui veulent la réduire à une fonction d’ajustement dans la société actuelle.
