Abstract
Cette étude vise à comprendre l’incarnation de la femme anthropophage qui renverse plusieurs systèmes de domination à travers le parcours de Solitude, héroïne emblématique de l’œuvre d’André Schwarz-Bart. La mulâtresse Solitude retrace l’histoire réelle de cette mulâtresse esclave qui décide de fuir l’univers mortifère de l’Habitation pour entreprendre une quête identitaire, semée de luttes contre esclavagistes, au côté de nègres marrons. André Schwarz-Bart procède à un réinvestissement de l’histoire pour se focaliser sur la contribution des femmes au sein de la résistance. Cette vision de Schwarz-Bart est issue d’une observation du réel et de l’histoire faisant de l’héroïne un exemple de femme tridimensionnel où se retrouvent la femme, la métisse et la maronne. Mais c’est aussi Solitude dont le métissage et le caractère insulaire semblent faire d’elle un modèle-type de l’être multiple, libre et donc symboliquement anthropophage car son métissage est envisagé comme ligne de fuite et déconstruction de hiérarchies.
