Abstract
L’image de la femme îlienne a souvent été associée à des stéréotypes réducteurs la représentant dans une position de victime battue, maltraitée et exploitée. Pour se démarquer de cette représentation, l’auteur Nassur Attoumani propose une nouvelle approche en dépeignant la femme insulaire contemporaine sous de nouveaux jours dans le roman Mon mari est plus qu’un fou : c’est un homme. Cette étude montre comment après s’être soumise à l’autorité patriarcale, la femme mahoraise rejette la domination masculine et revendique son agentivité pour reprendre sa destinée en main.
