Cet article se propose de revenir sur la manière dont l’ethnologue envisage son terrain à distance. À travers l’étude d’une littérature non scientifique du XIXe au XXIe siècles, Antoine Jeanne se plonge dans les ouvrages conseillés par ses enquêtés pour parfaire son appréhension du trophée de chasse. L’auteur réfléchit ainsi à la manière dont l’ethnologue mobilise le récit et la fiction pour explorer l’imaginaire des chasseurs contemporains, et conduire une anthropomuséologie du trophée de chasse.
