Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Casimir C. Lindsey March 22, 1923 – April 27, 2022 ... Casimir C. Lindsey, BS (University of Toronto, 1948), MA (University of British Columbia [UBC], 1950), PhD (Cambridge University, 1952) was born in Toronto on March 22, 1923, and passed away on April 27, 2022, at 99 years of age. He was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Shelagh, and by his brother, George Lindsey, of Toronto. Lindsey graduated with a BS from the University of Toronto in 1948 and made his first visit to the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC immediately after. There, he earned a MA for his thesis entitled, “Structural variation as related to the ecology of the Redside Shiner Richardsonius balteatus (Richardson)” under the supervision of Peter Larkin. He proceeded to Cambridge University, UK, in 1950, where he completed a doctoral thesis entitled, “Environmental determination of the number of teleost fin rays” under the direction of Sir James Gray. Lindsey then returned for his second stint at UBC as a member of the zoology faculty at the then Institute of Fisheries from 1953 to 1966. That last year he took a professorship at the University of Manitoba (U of M) where he helped develop a program on aquatic biology. He moved back to UBC in 1979 and worked there in the Institute of Fisheries until his retirement in 1989.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
