Abstract
Introdução: O Transtorno de Ansiedade Generalizada (TAG) está entre os principais diagnósticos psiquiátricos do século XXI, sua gama sintomatológica é ampla assim como a lista de possíveis diagnósticos diferenciais. Dentre o grupo de condições metabólicas que mimetizam essa condição está a Porfiria Aguda Intermitente (PAI), uma doença metabólica rara resultante da deficiência da terceira enzima da via de síntese do heme, a hidroximetilbilano-sintase, HMB-sintase. Justificativa: A discussão sobre o tema é recente e relevante, no entanto são poucos os artigos em língua portuguesa disponibilizados nas bases de dados. Objetivos: Relatar o caso de T. D. F., paciente com longa história de sintomas orgânicos e psiquiátricos inespecíficos, que a levaram por um longo atraso diagnóstico da a Porfiria Aguda Intermitente (PAI). Metodologia: Coleta de informações do caso via revisão de prontuário associado a revisão de leitura tipo overview, utilizando as bases Web of Science e BVS. Conclusão: O diagnóstico diferencial do transtorno de ansiedade generalizada deve incluir distúrbios metabólicos como a porfiria aguda intermitente.
