A mobilidade urbana é fundamental para o processo de desenvolvimento de Salvador, capital do Estado da Bahia. O sistema modal na cidade de Salvador tem como principais vetores o rodoviário e o metroviário, considerados transporte de massa complementares e com funções diferentes. O metrô opera as rotas estruturantes Linha 1 (que faz a ligação da Estação Lapa até a Estação Pirajá) e Linha 2 (que faz a conexão a partir da Estação Acesso Norte até a Estação Aeroporto). O sistema rodoviário atende ao processo de carregamento e escoamento das rotas estruturantes principais (vias de trânsito urbano). Dado que é recente o início da operação da Linha 2 do Metrô em Salvador (2016), o artigo mostra a avaliação do serviço oferecido nesta Linha a partir da perspectiva do usuário. Para tanto, foi realizada uma pesquisa com os usuários entre março e setembro de 2019 e teve como propósito investigar se houve melhoria em relação a mobilidade, a partir da relação entre origem/destino, tempo de viagem, quantidade de embarques e valor despendido. Os resultados mostram que mais da metade dos passageiros estão relativamente satisfeitos com o serviço.
