Abstract
Con el ánimo de contribuir a enriquecer el debate sobre la situación creada en el mundo con ocasión de los recientes atentados terroristas, con el deseo de participar y hacer partícipes a otros del «retorno de las ideas» que esta situación ha generado en el mundo entero, la Ponticia Universidad Católica del Perú pone a disposición de los lectores un conjunto de ensayos sobre la cuestión de la tolerancia. En ellos se actualiza la discusión sobre los aspectos más importantes del enfrentamiento entre religiones o culturas, la relevancia de la libertad, las formas de discriminación que dan lugar a relaciones de intolerancia, la violencia política, la cuestión de la laicidad, la tolerancia y la memoria. Los autores de estos ensayos son filósofos destacados, del Perú y el extranjero, que participaron en un importante congreso internacional dedicado enteramente al tema de la tolerancia en el campus de la PUCP hace ya algunos años. Lo que aquí ofrecemos es una selección de aquellos trabajos en una versión especialmente preparada para iluminar el análisis de la controversia de mayor actualidad.
