La collecte d’informations auprès des pasteurs de divers continents fait état d’un écart entre la formation théologique dispensée dans les lieux de préparation au ministère pastoral et les réalités vécues une fois sur le terrain. Cet article a pour but de proposer des pistes de solutions pour réduire au maximum cet écart. À partir d’une relecture sociologique, théologique et biblique des défis rencontrés par les pasteurs de diverses confessions chrétiennes d’Afrique, ainsi que du programme minimum commun (PMC) de la licence en théologie du conseil des institutions théologique d’Afrique francophone, nous proposons des principes permettant d’offrir une formation théologique préparatoire à l’exercice du ministère pastoral qui est en adéquation avec les réalités du terrain des Églises d’Afrique.
