Abstract
Cet article a pour but de rendre compte des résultats obtenus à la suite de l’utilisation du dispositif multimédia « Rencontres Interculturelles » par des apprenants de français langue-culture étrangère de trois universités mexicaines : Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana campus Azcapotzalco, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México et Universidad Pedagógica Nacional. Les activités du dispositif « Rencontres Interculturelles » proposent un travail de découverte des différences culturelles des pays appartenant à la francophonie et de réflexion sur la manière dont cette richesse culturelle contribue à la formation d’un étudiant universitaire mexicain et lui permet d’appréhender et de valoriser sa propre culture (Hall, 1984 : 48). Après cette expérience qui s’est étendue sur plusieurs mois, les étudiants ont répondu à un questionnaire qui a permis de repérer dans quelle mesure avait eu lieu une prise de conscience chez eux à propos de l’importance de la dimension interculturelle dans les programmes de langues-cultures étrangères (LCE) proposés par leurs institutions. La méthodologie, basée sur l’analyse qualitative, a permis de mettre en évidence des stéréotypes et des clichés, entre autres éléments intéressants, mais aussi de révéler un profil inattendu des apprenants et de leurs besoins et motivations spécifiques.
