"Le 22 février 2019, les Algériens sortent par millions à travers tout le pays pour manifester leur désaccord contre la candidature du Président Bouteflika à un cinquième mandat. Les manifestations se renouvellent tous les mardis et tous les vendredis. Elles sont suspendues en mars 2020, sur décision des contestataires eux-mêmes, en raison de l’apparition du coronavirus. Elles reprennent à l’occasion de l’anniversaire en février 2021 de ce puissant mouvement de révolte qui a pris le nom de hirak, mot arabe utilisé aussi sous cette forme dans les productions en français. Hirak qui signifie littéralement "mouvement" fonctionne, dans ce contexte, comme un équivalent de révolution. [...]"
