Abstract
Dans une perspective féministe, cet article se penche sur la représentation de la maternité dans le roman L’Héritier (1951) de Simone Bussières. Autrice aujourd’hui oubliée, Bussières propose le récit novateur d’une mère porteuse prête à tout pour retrouver son enfant. L’article vise à analyser la manière dont le texte, par son intrigue mais aussi, paradoxalement, par sa forme mélodramatique, conteste de manière oblique l’appropriation du corps des femmes, suggère une renégociation des valeurs symboliques entre pères et mères et, partant, annonce certains thèmes fondateurs de la fiction féministe des années 1970.
