Abstract
The purpose of the article is to consider topical issues of the influence of the Russian revolutionary events of 1917 on the Belarusian statehood. Characterizing the path that Belarus took in the crucible of the revolutionary events of the first quarter of the twentieth century, it must be stated that its main result was the appearance on the territory of Belarus of the first national-state formations - the BNR and SSRB. SSRB, being a state entity on a Soviet basis, later becoming the Belarusian Soviet Socialist Republic, after three consolidations of its territory in March 1924, September 1926 and November 1939, united the main Belarusian ethnic lands. By analyzing the sources, the author sees that the main result of this historical period is that the Belarusian statehood received geopolitical weight, a real socio-economic basis, which ensured the further progress of the country.
