Abstract
Le corps féminin a longtemps été méconnu, réprimé et victime d’un manque de représentation : alors que le corps masculin était érigé en tant que norme, le corps féminin, et plus particulièrement son sexe était invisibilisé et présenté comme imparfait, incomplet. Cette « excision » scientifique et culturelle a imposé un contrôle de la sexualité féminine et des connaissances. Briser les doctrines et déconstruire les normes : pour un art féministe auxquelles les femmes avaient accès sur leur propre corps. Quelles sont les stratégies développées par les artistes pour pallier ce manque, cette absence dans les représentations artistiques et culturelles ? Comment réagissent-elles pour s’opposer, transgresser et dénoncer ? Comment ces nouveaux savoirs sont-ils transmis ? C’est en partant de ces questions que cet article étudiera la pratique et le propos de l’artiste Sophia Wallace et sa volonté de produire une « alphabétisation du clitoris ».
